IV. Love?

Himawari Kunogi Watanuki's BIIIIIIIIG loveinteresst.
She's a sweet and nice person, trying to help everybody. She's Watanuki's classmate and he goes nuts near her. Just saying her name makes him high, and he's on cloud no. 7. His attitude changes completly - he could have been so pissed a second before, but as soon as Himawari appears, he seems to be under a charm.

Sounds like the perfect lovestory ... Wrong! Himawari might be adorably nice to but, she's also bad luck to everyone around her. Only Doumeki is immune to her bad spirit. It has been there forever and a lot of bad things happend to her. Her neightbours house burned down after she picked up her ball in their garden, her grandmother died after she took her to a priest to get rid of the curse and Watanuki fell out the schoolwindow and almost died after he made the pinky-swear with her. Although she knows about her fortune, she keeps on smiling and trys to hide what she's bringing.

After the terrible event with Watanuki she was one of the three persons to make the wish to save him. Himawari's price is the hardest one to bear in my opinion. Her whole back is now covered with the scars the would have been Watanuki's. She first wanted to leave him forever, so he could live without beeing in danger, but after he (kinda) expressed his true feeling for her, she agreed on keeping the friendship to him and could barely get out Yuuko's shop without crying.

From Watanuki's wish to make Himawari happy, a bird was born. This little bid is also immune against her bad powers and it was named Tanpopo (dandelion)
How will the bird effect their relationship and will they ever be together?



Kudakitsune/ Mugetsu Affection because of the bloodline
Kudakitsune is a strong, spiritual creature (really, really cute one ♥) who was the prize the Amewarashi paid Yuuko for helping with the magnoliatree which was polluted by a corpse burried under it.

This little thing is absolutly attracted to Watanuki and follows him wherever he goes. But why?
As you know, Watanuki is a human between this world and the "other side", the world of spirits, due his blood. Yuuko-San once called it 'delicious' for the ghostes. Kudakitsune, of course, isn't a ghost, but a supernatural being. This means it can also smell the special blood of Watanuki's.

Watanuki on the other hand is scared of the Kudakitsune. Not in the bad way, he's just scared somebody could see it and discovers his secret. Also, he's irritated of the cuddleattacks from Kudakitsune.

Still wonder, why I think this 'relationship' is important?
See ... Kudakitsune has to appearances - the cute, snake-like and a bigger, foxlike form.
When Watanuki was attacked by a pair of wings that have grown in a girl back (they feed on her soul), Kudakitsune changes to the real fox and saves Watanuki by tearing the wings apart.

After Doumeki, Himawari and Syaoran saved Watanuki's life and the little bird was born from the egg, Watanuki was choosen to give Kudakitsune a real name. Watanuki is the person it loves the most and names are very important (Yuuko-San stresses that out a lot). He decided on Mugetsu, meaning moonless because its eyes are barly seeable when it's in its normal from but glow like cresentmoon in the powerful one.

Poor Watanuki. First he has to get up in the middle in the night to make chocolate for Yuuko-San, Himawari-Chan is ill, Doumeki eats up the chocolate Watanuki wanted to give Himawari and then he does not get a single present for valentinesday.

On his way home, argueeing with Doumeki-Kun again, they meet a lost looking girl searching for something. First Watanuki thinks, she's one of Doumeki's fangirl but she graps inside his stomach, takes out the chocolate and flys away crying. Luckly, Yuuko-San was near and helps Watanuki to get back the chocolate (of course - not for free...) and with it Doumekis soul.

Flying on a big bird, controled by Mokona, Watanuki finally finds the girl but is suddenly attackt by small kids with black wings and on flying snowboards. As he got slaped and falls down to earth, the mysterious girl saves him and they are able to talk on a houseroof. It turns out, that the girl's not one of Doumekis fans, but one of Watanuki! She wanted this special chocolate as a present for him!

Later on, Watanuki gives back the chocolate to Doumeki and Yuuko-San explains: The girl was in fact not a real girl but a Zashikiwarashi (kind of a houseelve). Normaly they live in the mountains not showing up, but this one has fallen in love with Watanuki and she wanted to give him a valentinesday chocolate. Cute, isn't it?

WHY she has fallen in love with him is only a speculation. Maybe because he's such a nice boy, maybe because he's a great houseman, maybe because of his bloodline. Choose what you like.
