Layout
This is (main) version 11 of Daimonium.org and was made within a single day. It consists of stockimages and patterns only and is dedicated to my favourite
sin, pride. Therefore it has a peacock and the colour purple. It is a simple but (at least in my opinion) quite lovely layout.
The words in the title-line are taken from a poem writen by Queen Elizabeth I:
I grieve and dare not show my discontent,
I love and yet am forced to seem to hate,
I do, yet dare not say I ever meant,
I seem stark mute but inwardly to prate.
I am and not, I freeze and yet am burned.
Since from myself another self I turned.
My care is like my shadow in the sun,
Follows me flying, flies when I pursue it,
Stands and lies by me, doth what I have done.
His too familiar care doth make me rue it.
No means I find to rid him from my breast,
Till by the end of things it be supprest.
Some gentler passion slide into my mind,
For I am soft and made of melting snow;
Or be more cruel, love, and so be kind.
Let me or float or sink, be high or low.
Or let me live with some more sweet content,
Or die and so forget what love ere meant.

Name
Daimonium is a crippled form of the Greek original, Daimonion.
Daimon translats as bad spirit but also godlike being. It's not neccessarly a bad thing, they can also bring blessing. The bad aftertaste as demon came in the days of christanisation.
Before that, a daimon was seen as part of every human, watching over ones personal destiny. Socrates for example said Daimonion was divine and the antonym to logos - the human logic.
I got this name while fliping around a dictionary and took it, because I love greek mythology and names of non-english orgin.
Totally unrelated: I also think of learing Greek in school next year.
History
This domain was registered and bought on September 25th 2006. We' had our second anniversery this year.
Times passes so fast, you won't believe it!
I had big problems with the host of my previous domain, Superbiae.net, so
I thought of buying a new one and I ended up with Daimonium, because my
alltime favourite (Imago Dei) was still taken (and remains so). Why I didn't take the old name to the new host?
Don't ask me, it was a spontanious decision.
With my new host I'm pretty much satisfied. It's more expensive, but I finally found a server that
doesn't go down every other day.
